Sneak Peek: Ever wondered how to sell your products & services to the federal government? Check out these 3 important tech-biz workshops from the Small Business Association of New England & University of New Hampshire
Since the events calendar is a little light this week, I thought I'd take a minute to share a few upcoming workshops from the Small Business Association of New England (SBANE) and University of New Hampshire (UNH).
On Wednesday, November 29th, The Law offices of Sheehan Phinney will be hosting a workshop called "Protecting Your Business From a Data Breach" from 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM, 1000 Elm Street, 17th Floor, in Manchester. The discussion will include the legal risk of a data breach, defending against data breaches, and insuring for data breaches.
Tuesday, December 5th, SBANE is presenting "NAVSEA and NAVAIR SBIR Workshop " from 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM at the Portsmouth Harbor Events & Conference Center 100 Deer St., at 22 Portwalk Place, Portsmouth, NH. This workshop will cover how to deliver "your innovative ideas or capabilities" to the Department of Defense and will include:
• A review of each of the Navy Sea System Commands’ SBIR / STTR topics in the just-released Broad Agency Agreement
• 1-on-1 matchmaking conversations with Navy Sea System Command representatives
According to the event description: "As a commitment to engaging more women, minorities and veterans in the SBIR Program, the Navy will return to Boston and debrief proposal evaluations with any of the attendees of this event who either have a woman Primary Investigator on their proposal or are from a Woman-Owned Small Business, Minority-Owned Small Business or Veteran-Owned Small Business."
The third event is "SBIR/STTR Proposal Preparation - Focus on DOD/DOE" on Tuesday, December 5th from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM at University of New Hampshire, UNHInnovation, 21 Madbury Rd, Durham, NH. Training Room 148. The workshop will cover "SBIR/STTR program basics, including eligibility requirements, the difference between SBIR and STTR, participating agencies," as well as how to craft a proposal for the Department of Defense and Department of Energy, an overview of what the people reviewing your proposal expect, as well as other tips and strategies for crafting a winning proposal.
NOTE: Even though the events in this week's roundup were still on their host group's calendars as of noon on Thursday, November 16th, it is a good idea to check with the event organizer before dropping in.
