This year's Study Jam is custom-designed by Udacity and Google for those of you who are looking to break into mobile app development as a beginner, and does not assume any prior development experience.
No previous coding skills needed!
The online course will be facilitated by several experienced developers including, Sarfraz Ahmad, Bill Schongar, Daniel Pinard, and others.
We'll get you started with the online course at the first event along with additional live material to help you succeed and have fun.
The Study Jam Android course will run over 5 weeks with 3 live sessions on Monday nights (3/21, 3/28, and 4/4), a one-week break to work on your own (with online facilitator help), and then a final live session on Monday, 4/18.
We'd love to see many of you out there, so come hang out with your local development community and add some new skills to the repertoire.
Pizza will be served at 6 pm.
Personal tutoring on the course material. Community setting to support course learning.
If you are new to programming and don’t know where to start, then this is the course for you!We will use Android Studio to build our apps, so you should have access to a computer that can run Android Studio in order to follow along (see Android Studio’s System Requirements for details). Don’t worry, you do not need to install Android Studio in advance – we will provide detailed installation instructions as part of the course.
Now, in case you have some programming experience, parts of this course may be too slow for you — you should feel free to skip those sections.
Finally, the most important prerequisite is a willingness to learn new things, and the belief that you can do this!
See the Technology Requirements for using Udacity.
You DO NOT need to install anything in advance! =)
